Calling all young shutterbugs! If you’re a middle school/high school student on Cape Cod, we want YOU to enter your photos in the Hyannis Public Library’s Young Photographers’ Contest!
THREE $200 prizes will be offered for the best in:
- People (Portraits, sports, performers, activities/people in groups)
- Places (Landscapes, seascapes, architecture, monuments, habitats)
- Things (animals, plants, objects)
(One prize per category)
The contest is open now until April 1, 2023. Winning entries will be announced April 15, 2023. Submit your digital JPEG/jpg files to hyannispubliclibrary@gmail.com by April 1st. If your file is too large to email (and you can’t send a Google Drive link or other file share option), you may drop off a USB flash drive at the Library, clearly labeled with your name and number so we can return it to you.
Contest Rules:
All submissions must be original photographs taken by Cape Cod middle and upper school students, submitted as JPEG/jpg files. Photographs may be digitally corrected or enhanced by the artist, NOT created wholesale by digital A.I. programs. If judges are in doubt about the provenance of finished work, photographers may be asked to show their process from original photo to finished product. Judges’ discretion is final. Awards will be announced 4/15/23.
Rights to all photographs belong to the artists who created them. Contestants will permit use of their images for contest promotions, publicity, Library fund-raising and public display in virtual or print form.
