The Gardens of Gosnold Street
July 9, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Hyannis Public Library presents The Gardens of Gosnold Street, two Hydrangea Festival Tours to benefit the Library! These tours are part of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce’s Hydrangea Festival.
Tour the grounds of the elegant Hillcrest Bed & Breakfast at 70 Gosnold Street, once a guesthouse serving travelers on the Old Colony Railroad. You’ll see a dozen gorgeous hydrangeas, beach grass, lilies, colorful impatiens, assorted perennials and annuals. Have a seat under the gazebo while enjoying a glass of ice tea and a delicious scone. From there, you can walk to the corner of Gosnold and Estey to see 121 Gosnold Street, or “The Garden That Dad Built.” Nestled behind a neatly trimmed privet hedge, this magnificent garden stretches out like a masterpiece with a mass of perennials and annuals and a vegetable garden. There are also several container gardens along the edge of the backyard deck. And while you’re admiring the immediate surroundings, take a look southward to enjoy the lovely view of the marshland. Just beyond that, take a sneak peek of the sparkling waters of Nantucket sound!
The Gardens of Gosnold Street tours are $5 per garden if purchased on site (cash or check accepted), but you can buy your tickets in advance at the Hyannis Public Library through Friday, July 8 at 5:00 p.m. for ONLY $4 per garden! All proceeds benefit the Hyannis Public Library.
