Welcome to the Youth Services Department!
The Hyannis Public Library Children’s Room is a place where every child and family is welcome to play, explore, read or just be. We have all sorts of resources, including programs for all age groups, bilingual and foreign language materials and cool online databases for reading and learning sports skills! Need books, DVDs, audiobooks, magazines? Visit the Children’s Room where you can browse for materials while the kids can play and create. Come spend some time with us! And when you don’t want to be indoors anymore, go outside to the backyard and engage in imaginative play in the Outdoor Play Oasis, a project in partnership with the Cape Cod Toy Library!
Storytime
We have story time every Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Kelly, the Youth Services Librarian. We also hold periodic bilingual English/Portuguese story times with Kelly and Milvia. You can find our story times on our Events Calendar.
Outside if it’s nice -inside if it isn’t!
Kids’ Programming
Come for the books, stay for the programming! We have programs for all age groups, including tweens and teens! The Library also hosts programs from other groups in Hyannis and neighboring areas that provide services to families and children. Check out the Library Calendar to see what kinds of fun events are coming up for kids in the Library!
